DUSHANBE, Tajikistan, December 27. Trade turnover between Tajikistan and Georgia amounted to $34.698 million from January through November 2023, Trend reports.
Data from the National Statistics Office of Georgia (Geostat) shows that the figure rose by 89.6 percent compared to the same period in 2022 ($18.343 million).
Throughout this period, the bulk of the trade turnover comprised Georgia's exports to Tajikistan, totaling $34.430 million, which is a 90 percent surge compared to the same period in 2022 ($18.057 million).
Conversely, Georgian imports from Tajikistan reached $268,630 from January through November 2023, which is a decrease of 6.2 percent compared to the corresponding period in 2022 ($286,610). Notably, Georgia imported goods solely in April, May, August, and October of 2023 from Tajikistan.
Tajikistan and Georgia's total trade turnover reached $22.9 million in 2022, which is 1.8 times higher than $12.5 million registered in 2021.
Georgia's exports to Tajikistan totaled $22.6 million, increasing 1.8 times compared to $12.4 million in 2021. The country's imports from Tajikistan in 2022 totaled $304,250, up by 5.7 times over the $53,170 recorded in 2021.
