ASTANA, Kazakhstan, April 24. A total of 2,375
trains passed through the Khorgos station in the first quarter of
2025, marking a 28.5 percent increase compared to the same period
last year, Trend
reports via Kazakhstan’s Railways.
"During this time, 3.336 million tons of cargo were transported,
showing a 26 percent growth compared to the first quarter of 2024.
This is a record figure for the first quarter. Currently, 87 routes
pass through Khorgos, connecting 18 countries and 46 cities,"
Kazakhstan’s Railways noted.
Overall, the number of trains from China to Central Asia increased
by 25.5 percent, reaching 3,582 trains.
Khorgos station is an international railway station located on the
border of Kazakhstan and China, near the city of Khorgos
(Kazakhstan). This station is an important part of the
transportation infrastructure, serving as a key hub for transit
freight and passenger traffic between the two countries. It can
also be part of a broader route connecting Europe and China along
the famous Silk Road.
