BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 12. Saudi Aramco modestly increased its upstream liquids production in the first quarter of 2025, while total gas production saw a slight decline, the company’s latest financial results revealed, Trend reports.
Total liquids production - which includes crude oil, condensate, and natural gas liquids - averaged 10.3 million barrels per day (mbpd) in Q1 2025, up from 10.14 mbpd in the previous quarter. The increase demonstrates the company’s operational flexibility and ability to respond to market opportunities amid higher realized crude prices, which averaged $76.3 per barrel during the period.
However, on a year-on-year basis, liquids output slightly decreased from 10.52 mbpd in Q1 2024, reflecting market-driven adjustments and Aramco’s ongoing production management strategies aligned with OPEC+ agreements.
In contrast, total gas production dipped to 10,245 million standard cubic feet per day (mmscfd) in Q1 2025, down from 10,530 mmscfd in Q4 2024. Compared to Q1 2024, however, gas output remained higher, rising from 9,654 mmscfd - a sign of the company’s growing focus on gas as a strategic pillar for future growth.
Total hydrocarbon production for the quarter stood at 12.31 million barrels of oil equivalent per day (mboed), marginally up from 12.19 mboed in Q4 2024 but down from 12.41 mboed a year earlier.
