TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, May 20. Uzbekistan plans to implement 312 projects in the construction sector by the end of this year, with total investments reaching $2.4 billion, Trend reports, citing the Uzbek president’s office.
These initiatives are expected to generate 16,000 new jobs, raise production volumes to 53 trillion soums ($4 billion), and boost exports to $1.2 billion.
Officials from relevant ministries and agencies highlighted that population growth and rapid urbanization are driving increased demand for high-quality construction materials. In response, the sector continues to expand, with nearly 10,000 enterprises currently operating across the country.
In the first quarter of 2025, industrial output in the sector rose by 8 percent, while exports increased by 11 percent. As part of the national investment program, nine large-scale projects worth a combined $500 million have already been launched. Uzbekistan is also strengthening its international presence, opening new trade houses in Dushanbe, Kabul, and Philadelphia.
