BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 13. The Iranian Central Oil Fields Company (ICOFC) plans to increase daily gas production from the Dey, Tus, Khartang, and Kangan fields to 13 million cubic meters, ICOFC official Malek Ghanavati told local media, Trend reports.
Ghanavati noted that efforts are underway to raise production levels across the four gas fields.
He said that last Iranian year (from March 20, 2024, through March 20, 2025), operations at the Dey gas field enabled daily production of 2 million cubic meters of gas. With the launch of a new well this year (from March 21, 2025, through March 20, 2026), output is expected to rise to 3 million cubic meters per day, and in the coming years, further drilling is planned to reach 5 million cubic meters per day.
The official added that the Tus gas field, located in northeastern Iran, also holds significant importance. ICOFC aims to increase its production capacity to 3 million cubic meters per day by winter.
"Alongside the development of the Khartang gas field and daily production of 3 million cubic meters of gas, the existing 48-inch pipeline connecting the Kangan field to the Fajr Jam Gas Processing Plant will also contribute to boosting output. According to him, the initial production increase at the Khartang field will help reduce the volume of liquid accumulated in the pipeline as the gas is transported through the joint Khartang–Kangan line to the Fajr Jam plant. Overall, these efforts are expected to gradually raise combined production from the Khartang and Kangan fields to 5 million cubic meters per day," he added.
Currently, ICOFC oversees 84 oil and gas fields across 11 provinces of Iran, of which 13 gas and 13 oil fields have been developed. The company’s maximum production capacity stands at about 250,000 barrels of crude oil and 250 million cubic meters of gas per day.
