BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 17. Gold exports from Azerbaijan to Iraq are being studied as a potential business venture, Executive Director of the Agency for Promotion of Export and Investment (AZPROMO) Yusif Abdullayev told reporters on the results of the Azerbaijani-Iraqi business forum in Baku, Trend reports.
“This area of cooperation is a bright spot on the horizon. Major producers and importers of gold from Iraq will visit Azerbaijan to discuss this issue,” Abdullayev said.
To note, Azerbaijan has struck gold, producing 1.376 tons from January through August 2024, marking a 7.3 percent increase compared to the same stretch in 2023, with the lion's share of this treasure set for export.
