The laying of the pipeline from the Iran’s Jask oil terminal to the 1st floating system Single Point Mooring (SPM) was launched on Jan. 19, administrator of Jask oil terminal, Vahid Maleki said, Trend reports citing Pars Oil and Gas Company’s website.
According to Maleki, a 2.5-kilometer pipeline is being laid with C-Master ship in the first stage.
He added that under the plan, two 36-inch pipelines with a length of about 12 km will be laid.
The official noted that there is 70-percent progress in the first stage of the Jask oil terminal development plan. According to this, the first stage will be launched by the end of the current Iranian year (until March 21, 2021).
Maleki stressed that if the plan fully implemented, it would guarantee Iran's stable crude oil exports and end Iran's dependence on the Strait of Hormuz.
A part of the Goureh-Jask crude pipeline project is the development of the Jask oil terminal. As part of the development of the terminal, three units 48-inch pipelines will be laid in onshore, six units 36-inch pipelines in offshore, and 3 floating systems Single Point Mooring (SPM) will be put into operation. The development plan for the Jask oil terminal is planned to be completed by the end of next Iranian year (March 21, 2022).
The construction of the 1,000-kilometer Goureh-Jask oil pipeline project worth more than $1.8 billion has been outsourced to local manufacturers and contractors. It is planned to transport 1 million barrels of crude oil per day via the pipeline.
According to the program, the pipeline will be commissioned next Iranian year (begins March 21, 2021).
It is also planned to build a 30 million-barrel oil storage facility on 460 hectares at the Iranian Jask oil terminal. As part of this program, a storage facility for 10 million barrels of oil is being built.
