BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 11. SOCAR dispatched 2.7 million tons of oil to its oil refinery in Baku (Heydar Aliyev Oil Refinery) from January through May 2024, which is 0.2 million tons more than the figure of the same period in 2023, the data of the Azerbaijani Energy Ministry said, Trend reports.
This refinery (the only one in Azerbaijan) obtained 2.5 million tons of oil from SOCAR from January through May 2023 (0.373 million tons more than in the five months of 2022).
The refinery produces 10 main types of oil products.
The forecast for oil product production in 2024 is 5.84 million tons, including 2.41 million tons of diesel fuel.
To note, the annual oil refining capacity of the Baku Refinery is 6.5 million tons per year.
