BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 5. The analysts of the Dutch ING predict Azerbaijan will keep the manat's de facto peg to the US dollar at the level of 1.7 manat to one dollar at least until the end of 2026, Trend reports.
This, according to the analysts, will happen because the manat will be under much less strain.
To note, the Central Bank of Azerbaijan pegged the exchange rate of the national currency to the US dollar at 1.7 manat in 2017 to control inflation.
Additionally, the international S&P Global Ratings agency and the Asian Development Bank also expect the Azerbaijani national currency to remain pegged to the dollar until 2026.
