BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 9. Analysts at the Netherlands-based ING forecast that Azerbaijan will maintain the manat's de facto peg to the US dollar at 1.7 manat per dollar through at least the end of 2026, Trend reports.
The analysts chalk up this projection to a major decrease in pressure on the manat.
The Central Bank of Azerbaijan set the manat's exchange rate at 1.7 to the US dollar in 2017 to keep a lid on inflation.
Additionally, both S&P Global Ratings and the Asian Development Bank anticipate that the manat will remain pegged to the dollar until 2026.
