Iranian minister discloses amount of attracted foreign investments

Iranian government has lured about $23 billion from foreign countries such as China and Denmark over the past three months.

The Iranian minister of economic affairs and finance, Masoud Karbasian, told reporters on Wednesday that the administration of President Hassan Rouhani has managed to draw $23 billion to finance projects inside the county from foreign markets over the past 100 days.

The country’s ministry of Industry, Mine and Trade earlier announced that the administration had authorized $1.831 billion in foreign direct investment during the first half of the current fiscal year (started March 20).

The figure for the first half of the year grew by 58 percent, compared to $1.156 billion worth of projects approved by the administration in the same period of the preceding year.
