BAKU, Azerbaijan, November 30. Türkiye's ports transported 8.35 million tons of chemical products from January through October this year, Trend reports via the Turkish Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure.
The ministry noted that 1.1 million tons of cargo were transported by vessels under the Turkish flag, while 6.93 million tons were transported by vessels under the flags of other states.
"In January-October this year, Turkish ports transshipped 352 tons of chemical products," the ministry said.
In October 2024, Türkiye's ports handled 30.6 million tons of cargo. During this period, cargo traffic to domestic ports by vessels under the Turkish flag amounted to 2.47 million tons.
"The cargo traffic of vessels under the flags of other countries to Turkish ports amounted to 30.18 million tons," the ministry stated.
Additionally, Turkish ports handled 5.7 million tons of transit cargo in October 2024.
According to the ministry, from January through October 2024, Türkiye's ports received a total of 331.3 million tons of cargo.
"The reception of cargo by vessels under the Turkish flag amounted to 25.93 million tons, while vessels under the flags of other countries transported 306.2 million tons of cargo to Turkish ports," the ministry reported.
The report states that Turkish ports handled 57.56 million tons of transit cargo from January through October 2024.
In October of this year, the ports of Türkiye received 5,396 vessels.
During this period, Turkish ports accepted 3,451 vessels under the flags of other countries and 1,945 vessels under the Turkish flag.
From January through October 2024, Turkish ports received a total of 51,713 vessels.
"During this period, vessels under the flags of other countries accepted by Turkish ports totaled 33,584, while those under the Turkish flag totaled 18,129," the ministry said.
