BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 14. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan congratulated Pakistan on Independence Day.

“On the occasion of the Independence Day of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, we extend our heartfelt congratulations to the brotherly people and the Government of Pakistan. Happy Independence Day, Pakistan!” the congratulatory message reads.
Meanwhile, Azerbaijan and Pakistan established diplomatic relations on June 9, 1992, after Pakistan became one of the first countries to recognize Azerbaijan’s independence in 1991. Since then, ties have been based on strong political support, mutual respect, and cooperation, particularly over the Karabakh and Kashmir issues. Today, the relationship has evolved into a strategic partnership, covering defense, trade, investment, energy, transport, tourism, and other areas. The two countries continue to strengthen high-level contacts and explore new opportunities to expand economic and strategic cooperation.
