ASTANA, Kazakhstan, March 8. This year, the area of arable land in the region will reach 641.200 hectares, which is 14.500 hectares more compared to 2024, Trend reports via Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Agriculture.
This year, the main crops to be sown in the region will be
grains, oilseeds, and fodder crops. Currently, active preparations
are underway for spring fieldwork in the region.
“Spring works for plowing and moisture retention are planned for
85.600 hectares. A total of 4.5 billion tenge ($9 million) will be
allocated from the local budget for the spring fieldwork. These
funds will be directed towards the development of seed production,
support for priority crops, and subsidizing fertilizers,” the
information notes.
Meanwhile, under the "Keng Dala" (Wide Field) program, 29 farms
have submitted applications for 326.0 million tenge ($652,000), and
under "Keng Dala 2," 75 farms have applied for 2.7 billion tenge
($5.4 million). Applications totaling 1.6 billion tenge ($3.2
million) have been approved, with the remaining ones under
review.
Meanwhile, preparation for the spring sowing is also in full swing,
and farmers are provided with the necessary seeds. A total of
20,000 tons of diesel fuel has been allocated at a preferential
price of 254 tenge ($0.51) per liter. This year, 83.100 tons of
mineral fertilizers are planned to be applied to an area of 415,000
hectares. A total of 7,311 units of agricultural machinery have
been prepared for the spring fieldwork.
The regional data indicates that, this year it is planned to
purchase more than 400 new self-propelled agricultural machines,
with an equipment renewal rate of 6.5 percent. Work will also be
strengthened to implement water-saving technologies, with plans to
increase this indicator to 64.500 hectares.
