BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 17. Azerbaijan imported 7,500 tons of meat from January through February of this year.
Data obtained by Trend from the State Customs Committee indicates that the cost of importing this volume of meat amounted to $15.7 million.
The meat imports decreased by 718 tons or 8.8 percent in volume, and by $1.7 million or 10 percent in value compared to the same period of the last year (8,200 tons of meat worth $17.4 million).
Meanwhile, from January through February of this year, Azerbaijan produced 91,200 tons of meat, including poultry, in live weight, which is an increase of 2,100 tons or 2.4 percent compared to the same period last year (89,100 tons).
