ASTANA, Kazakhstan, March 26. A comprehensive solid waste management infrastructure, encompassing a state-of-the-art recycling facility for paper, plastic, and rubber materials, is slated for development in the Ulytau region of Kazakhstan, as announced by regional Akim (governor) Dastan Ryspekov during a government meeting, Trend reports.
“The initiative, appraised at 840 million tenge (circa $1.68 million), will be executed by a private stakeholder. The capital allocator will inject 134 million tenge (approximately $268,000) from proprietary resources and leverage an additional 705 million tenge (circa $1.41 million) via leasing financing sanctioned by the Industrial Development Fund,” Ryspekov added.
Ryspekov further articulated that a 16-hectare parcel has been
earmarked for the initiative, with requisite technical endorsements
for hydric utilization and electrical provisioning already
secured.
The newly established facility is projected to optimize the
processing and disposal of an estimated 50,000 tons of waste per
annum, thereby substantially augmenting the ecological landscape of
the region.
