BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 15. The ratio of the state budget deficit to gross domestic product (GDP) in Azerbaijan is projected to be 2.2 percent in 2026 and to decrease to 1.3 percent by 2029.
Data obtained by Trend from the Ministry of Finance indicates that the upper limit of the state budget deficit in 2026 is forecasted at 2.9 billion manat ($1.7 billion). For the following three years, it is expected to be 2.7 billion manat ($1.5 billion), 2.5 billion manat ($1.4 billion), and 2.1 billion manat ($1.2 billion), respectively.
“As in previous years, the state budget deficit is planned to be financed through privatization revenues, borrowing (both foreign and domestic), and the balance of the single treasury account,” the ministry said.
