BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 1. The volume of loans issued to micro-entrepreneurship entities in Azerbaijan amounted to 3.07 billion manat ($1.8 billion) by the end of March this year.
The data obtained by Trend from the Central Bank (CBA) shows that this figure increased by 64 million manat ($37.76 million) or 2.13 percent compared to the end of February ($1.77 billion).
By the end of March, the total volume of Azerbaijani banks’ business loan portfolio reached 14.9 billion manat ($8.81 billion). As of April 1 this year, the number of micro-entrepreneurship entities operating in the country was 181,500. The majority of these entities were engaged in trade and motor vehicle repair (35.1 percent), other service activities (11.4 percent), construction (9.2 percent), professional, scientific, and technical activities (7.8 percent), and agriculture, forestry, and fishing (6.6 percent).
