BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 6. European gas prices softened in July 2025, with the Dutch TTF spot averaging $11.47 per million British thermal units (MMBtu), down 7% month-on-month but 12% higher than a year earlier, according to the Gas Exporting Countries Forum (GECF), Trend reports.
The UK’s NBP spot price averaged $10.96/MMBtu, falling 6% from June yet up 13% year-on-year.
Prices trended lower despite unplanned outages at several Norwegian gas facilities and robust demand from the power sector. Daily TTF spot prices reached a two-month low of $10.99/MMBtu during the month.
For the January–July 2025 period, TTF and NBP spot prices averaged $12.89/MMBtu and $12.68/MMBtu, representing increases of 36% and 37% year-on-year, respectively, the GECF report showed.
