BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 7. Average spot LNG prices in Northeast Asia (NEA) fell in July 2025, averaging $12.26 per million British thermal units (MMBtu), down 5% month-on-month but 2% higher than a year earlier, according to the Gas Exporting Countries Forum (GECF), Trend reports.
The decline came despite above-normal temperatures in key demand centres, including China, Japan, and South Korea, as global LNG supply remained ample. Daily NEA spot prices reached a two-month low of $11.51/MMBtu during the month.
For the January-July 2025 period, NEA spot LNG prices averaged $12.91/MMBtu, representing a 24% year-on-year increase, the GECF report showed.
