By Tamilla Mammadova – Trend:

The price of eggs at the Kumisi farm of Georgia will increase by at least 5 percent due to sharp fluctuations in the exchange rate of lari, said Zurab Uchumbegashvili, the head of the Georgian Poultry Development Association, the founder of the Kumisi poultry farm, Trend reports with reference to commersant.ge.

According to Uchumbegashvili, instability in the country has seriously affected the business, including the poultry industry.

“If this continues, the price of eggs will rise by 5 percent in the near future. It is also possible to increase the price of corn and wheat. If last year a bag of grain cost 40-45 tetri, then this year it costs 65-70 tetri. Only one grain production has risen in price by 30-40 percent,” said Uchumbegashvili.

According to him, in the poultry industry there are various problems that have not yet been resolved by the state.
