About 300,000 tons of kiwi will be harvested in Iran this Iranian year (began March 21, 2019), said Mohammad Reza Shabani, director of the Mazandaran Gardeners Association, Trend reports referring to the Young Journalists Club (YJC).
Shabani said that more than 150,000 tons of products should be exported, considering the per capita consumption in Iran.
Solving problems with allocation of bank loans and returning foreign funds obtained from exports may boost Iran’s exports, Shabani said.
“It is estimated that 2.7-2.8 million tons of citrus fruits will be harvested in Mazandaran province this year,” Shabani said.
This will be a 10-percent increase compared to last Iranian year, the director added.
On October 27, 2019, the Preferential Trade Agreement (PTA) between Islamic Republic of Iran and EAEU came into effect. In accordance with the memorandum, 862 kinds of products will be imported and exported upon the preferential tariffs between the two parties. As agreed, Iran will export 502 kinds of products and import 360 kinds of products.
Iran will mainly export pistachios, kiwi, oil products, raisins, cucumbers, cabbages, persimmons, medicines, cement, copper and methanol. The country will mainly import barley, animal feed, oil, cathode and wood from the EAEU member states.
