Iran's Persian Gulf Bid-Boland Gas Refining Company launches new wharf

Wharf and warehouses belonging to Iran’s Persian Gulf Bid-Boland Gas Refining Company in the Bandar-e Mahshahr city of Khuzestan Province (south-western Iran) were put into operation on March 3, 2022, Trend reports citing Shana News Agency.

The event dedicated in this regard was attended by Iranian Oil Minister Javad Owji, the CEO of the National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC), Mohsen Khojasteh Mehr, the CEO of National Petrochemical Company (NPC) Morteza Shah-Mirzaei and CEO of the Persian Gulf Petrochemical Industries Company Abdolali Ali Asghari.

According to the report, a total of 270 million euros has been spent on the construction of a wharf and warehouses on 64 hectares of land. The wharf will allow the export of 2 million tons of goods (propane, butane, pentane plus) per year.

The Persian Gulf Bid-Boland Gas Refining Company was built with an investment of $3.4 billion. The company could bring $700 million worth of revenues a year to Iran if it operates fully.

The company can produce 10.3 million tons of methane, 1.5 million tons of propane, 490,000 tons of butane, 922,000 tons of acid gas, and 400,000 tons of gas condensate per year.
