BAKU, Azerbaijan, January 14. Iran’s Aghajari Oil and Gas Production Company (AOGPC), a subsidiary of the National Iranian South Oil Company (NISOC), has increased its gas production from the Pazanan oil and gas field by using Single Point Mooring (SPM) equipment, said Ali Hamrahpour, an official of the AOGPC, Trend reports.

Hamrahpour noted that SPM equipment was a more cost-effective and durable option than the conventional rig, which had caused many problems and losses for the company.

He said that SPM equipment was installed in well No. 100 of the Pazanan field at the end of the last Iranian year (March 20, 2023) and resulted in a production of 7.2 billion cubic feet (about 204 million cubic meters) of gas in the first six months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through September 22, 2023).

The official added that the installation was done by the company’s specialists.

The Pazanan field is located in southwestern Iran between Kohgiluyeh and Boyer Ahmad, and Khuzestan provinces. It has a daily production capacity of 31,000 barrels of crude oil and 28 million cubic meters of gas.

The AOGPC has eight oil fields: Aghajari, Karanj, Paranj, Parsi, Ramshir, Rag Sefid, Pazanan and Marun. The company extracts about 615,000 barrels of light and heavy crude oil daily from these fields and produces more than 27.8 million cubic meters of gas per day.
