STAR refinery significantly contributes to Türkiye's jet fuel output

BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 30. In June 2024, Türkiye's STAR oil refinery, owned by the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR), produced over 112,542 tons of aviation kerosene, accounting for nearly a fifth of the country's total jet fuel production for that month, Trend reports via Türkiye's Energy Market Regulatory Authority (EPDK).

Despite this output, jet fuel production in June 2024 was down by 6.65 percent compared to June 2023. However, overall, Turkish refineries produced more than 567,711 tons of jet fuel in June 2024, marking a 6.38 percent increase from the same month in 2023.

Operating since October 2018, the STAR refinery has the capacity to process up to 13 million tons of crude oil annually.
