BAKU, Azerbaijan, January 23. Azerbaijan exported 23.6 million tons of crude oil and oil products derived from bituminous rocks to 25 countries last year, worth $14.4 billion.
The data obtained by Trend from the country's State Customs Committee shows that this figure is $1.8 billion (11.1 percent) less in value terms and 2.4 million tons (9.4 percent) lower in volume terms compared to 2023.
According to the information, the highest amount of oil from the country was exported to Italy.
Thus, last year Italy imported from Azerbaijan 10.9 million tons of crude oil and oil products from bituminous rocks worth $6.7 billion. Thus, Italy once again retained its leadership in Azerbaijan's total oil exports.
The second place in Azerbaijan's total oil exports went to the Czech Republic. During the reporting period, 1.8 million tons of crude oil and oil products derived from bituminous rocks worth $1.1 billion were exported to this country.
The third position on the list is occupied by Croatia. Thus, last year Croatia imported 1.4 million tons of oil worth $873.4 million from Azerbaijan.
