BAKU, Azerbaijan, February 19. Total volume of production from Azerbaijan’s Absheron field is 2.3 billion cubic meters of gas and 6.7 million barrels of condensate since the start of production, Baku office of TotalEnergies told Trend.
“Lessons learnt from the Phase 1 of Absheron development field have been thoroughly analyzed. The action plan for Phase 2 is to implement an efficient procurement and contract process and very robust project management control,” said the company.
The Absheron field is located on the Caspian Sea shelf, 100 kilometers southeast of Baku and 25 kilometers northeast of Shah Deniz.
Gas and condensate production from Absheron has been carried out since July 2023 by the operating company JOCAP on the basis of an early production project from one deepwater well.
Under an agreement with the partners, SOCAR purchases this gas, and the condensate goes to the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan pipeline.
