BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 28. The STAR Oil Refinery of Azerbaijan’s state oil company SOCAR produced 127,352 tons of naphtha in January 2025, marking a 27.64% decrease compared to 176,025 tons in January 2024, according to Türkiye's Energy Market Regulatory Authority (EPDK).
Oil deliveries to the STAR Oil Refinery reached 926,974 tons in January 2025, a slight 1.37% decrease compared to 939,838 tons delivered in January 2024.
In January 2025, the STAR Oil Refinery produced 633,329 tons of diesel fuel, 5,661 tons of biodiesel-blended motor diesel.
Other refined products included 138,474 tons of various petroleum products, 21,807 tons of LPG, 71,567 tons of petroleum coke and 32,080 tons of non-liquid refinery gas.
Furthermore, 14,673 tons of high-sulfur diesel and 253.7 tons of heavy vacuum gas oil were produced.
STAR Refinery commenced operations on October 19, 2018. It ensures the integration of refining and petrochemicals and represents the largest single-location real sector investment in Türkiye.
Since late 2024, the refinery's crude oil processing capacity has reached 13 million tons per year. STAR Refinery produces various petroleum products, including diesel, naphtha, aviation fuel, and LPG, meeting approximately 18 percent of Türkiye’s demand for refined petroleum products in 2023. The refinery’s annual naphtha production almost fully meets Petkim’s raw material needs.
