BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 30. The STAR oil refinery, owned by Azerbaijan’s state oil company SOCAR in Türkiye, has more than doubled its jet fuel production, Trend reports citing Türkiye’s Energy Market Regulatory Authority (EPDK).
The data shows that the refinery produced around 179,440 tonnes of jet fuel in April 2025, as compared to 85,896 tonnes in the same period in 2024.
The refinery imported over 932,104 tonnes of crude oil in April 2025, up from 863,654 tonnes in April 2024, marking a 7.9 percent increase.
The STAR refinery began operations on October 19, 2018. It integrates refining and petrochemical production and is the largest real sector investment in Türkiye’s economy.
Since the end of 2024, the refinery’s crude oil processing capacity has reached 13 million tonnes per year. STAR produces various petroleum products, including diesel, naphtha, and jet fuel. Its annual naphtha output almost fully covers the feedstock needs of the Petkim petrochemical complex.
