Thiel Capital, an international investment fund, will study possibilities of direct and venture investment in the IT sector in Uzbekistan to attract private funding, the press service of the Ministry of Information Technologies and Communications of Uzbekistan reported May 25.
The Mirzo Ulugbek Innovation Center (MUIC), with the assistance of Thundermark Capital, organized a visit of a Thiel Capital delegation, headed by Portfolio Manager Matt Danzeisen, to Tashkent.
The delegation will visit Uzbekistan on May 29-30. They plan to hold discussions with officials of the Ministry of Information Technologies and Communications of Uzbekistan, MUIC, as well as residents in the innovation center.
The experts may provide practical assistance in developing the IT export potential of Uzbekistan with an aim to establish cooperation between representatives of the public and private sectors and external markets.
