BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 16. A joint transport and logistics center S.R.Plast with Azerbaijan has opened in Mamedkala village of the Derbent district in Russia's Dagestan, Trend reports.
As per the Dagestan Export Support Center, the ball got rolling on the construction of the center thanks to a done deal between Dagestan and Azerbaijan at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF-2024).
The S.R.Plast complex, intended for the storage and transshipment of agricultural products, has become part of the international North-South corridor.
Dagestan provided a land plot near the federal highway and ensured engineering infrastructure for the future project, while the responsibility for furnishing the facility is with the Azerbaijani side.
The center is decked out with refrigerated storage for the long haul preservation of agricultural products and a top-notch packaging system.
In parallel, Dagestan and Azerbaijan have outlined joint plans for the development of horticulture.
Additionally, according to the center, agreements have been signed to establish a seedling nursery and plant orchards on 53 hectares for growing plums, nectarines, cherries, olives, and peaches.
