BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 10. Kazakhstan is interested in using the competence of J.P. Morgan company to develop ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) standards, Prime Minister Alikhan Smailov said at a meeting with the President of J.P. Morgan for Russia and CIS Yan Tavrovsky, Trend reports via the Kazakh government.
The parties discussed the global macroeconomic situation, interaction with international financial organizations, and Kazakhstan's plans to enter the world capital markets.
Smailov noted that J.P. Morgan has been operating in Kazakhstan for 20 years and during this period the financial institution has established itself as a reliable and stable partner capable of solving the most complicated problems of its clients.
“It’s of fundamental importance for us to implement the current plans within the framework of decarbonization. We would like to use the competencies of J.P. Morgan to develop ESG standards and apply them correctly in our projects,” he added.
