ASTANA, Kazakhstan, April 30. The government of Kazakhstan has allocated 16 billion tenge (about $36.2 million) for the modernization of heat sources in Kentau, Ridder, and Kyzylorda, Trend reports.
The corresponding resolution on the allocation of funds from the government reserve for the reconstruction and overhaul of heat sources was signed by Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov.
Thus, more than 9 billion tenge (about $20.4 million) were allocated for the reconstruction of boilers No. 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, and 12 of CHPP-5 in Kentau, and 4.9 billion tenge (about $11.4 million) for the overhaul of process equipment and infrastructure of the Ridder CHPP.
In addition, the government allocated over 2 billion tenge (about $4.5 million) for the reconstruction of three steam boilers in the southern boiler house in Kyzylorda.
As the government noted, the measures taken will ensure reliable heat supply to the residents of Kentau, Ridder, and Kyzylorda in the upcoming heating seasons.
In general, in preparation for the heating season in 2024, it is planned to repair 10 power units, 55 boilers, and 45 turbines in the cities of Astana, Almaty, Shymkent, Atyrau, Ust-Kamenogorsk, Karaganda, Aktau, Taraz, Petropavlovsk, Pavlodar, Zhezkazgan, Aktobe, Ekibastuz, Stepnogorsk, Rudny, Balkhash, and Aksu.
Meanwhile, within the framework of investment agreements, work is underway to restore power unit No. 1 at Ekibastuz State District Power Plant-1 and replace turbine units at the Atyrau CHPP and Topar GRES. In addition, projects are planned for the construction of power unit No. 3 at the Ekibastuz State District Power Plant, as well as the expansion of the Ust-Kamenogorsk Thermal Power Plant and the Karaganda Thermal Power Plant 3.
The implementation of these projects will ensure the commissioning of new capacities totaling more than 1,500 MW.
