BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan, August 30. Kyrgyzstan imported 37.725 million liters of motor gasoline from Kazakhstan from January through June 2023, Trend reports.
According to the State Statistical Committee of Kyrgyzstan, this figure surged by 9.3 times compared to the same period in 2022 when 4.022 million liters of gasoline were imported from Kazakhstan.
The value of these imports increased by 5.2 times, amounting to $11.470 million between January and June 2023, compared to $2.170 million during the same months in 2022. Kazakhstan became the second-largest motor gasoline importer for Kyrgyzstan during the period under review.
In total, Kyrgyzstan's import of motor gasoline reached 271.535 million liters from January through June 2023, which is 35 percent less compared to the same period of 2022 (414.958 million liters). The total value of these imports was $102.053 million, 48 percent down year-on-year ($195.782 million in January-June 2022).
During the observed period, Russia emerged as the primary motor gasoline supplier to Kyrgyzstan, exporting 233.652 million liters worth $90.498 million.
