BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan, July 22. The value of mineral extraction in Kyrgyzstan reached 27.827 billion soms ($328 million) from January through June 2024, which is a 19-percent increase compared to the same period in 2023, Trend reports.

According to data from Kyrgyzstan’s State Statistical Committee, the volume of the extraction output decreased by 3.7 percent compared to January–June 2023.

Specifically, the extraction of metal ores dropped by 5.3 percent, coal (both black and brown) decreased by 4.1 percent, and crude oil and natural gas saw a slight decline of 0.6 percent. However, the extraction of other minerals increased by 25.5 percent.

In Kyrgyzstan's overall industrial production structure, mineral extraction accounted for 11.7 percent, manufacturing made up 74.2 percent, electricity, gas, steam, and air conditioning supply constituted 13 percent, and water supply, waste management, and remediation activities represented 1.1 percent.

The value of Kyrgyzstan's industrial production rose to 237.456 billion soms ($2.805 billion) from January through June 2024, a 10 percent increase compared to the same period last year. The physical volume of production grew by 1 percent over January–June 2023.
