Natural gas production in Kyrgyzstan down

BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan, July 23. Kyrgyzstan produced 14.4 million cubic meters of natural gas in the first half of 2024, which is 11.7 percent less than during the same period in 2023 (16.3 million cubic meters), Trend reports.

According to the State Statistical Committee of Kyrgyzstan, the country produced 1.8 million cubic meters of natural gas in June 2024, an 18.2 percent decrease from the 2.2 million cubic meters produced in the same month of 2023.

In the broader field of Kyrgyzstan's mineral extraction sector, production reached a value of 27.827 billion soms ($328 million) from January through June 2024, a 19 percent increase compared to the same period in 2023. However, the volume of extraction output decreased by 3.7 percent compared to January–June 2023.

Additionally, the value of Kyrgyzstan's industrial production rose to 237.456 billion soms ($2.805 billion) from January through June 2024, a 10 percent increase compared to the same period last year. The physical volume of production grew by 1 percent compared to January–June 2023.
