BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan, May 11. Kyrgyzstan exported 68 tons of honey from January through February 2025, marking an increase of 8.8 tons, or 14.9 percent, compared to the same period in 2024.
Data obtained by Trend from the National Statistical Committee shows that, despite the growth in volume, the value of honey exports dropped significantly. The total export value amounted to $180,391, which is a decrease of 48.7 percent from $352,012 recorded in the period from January through February 2024.
During the reporting period, Kyrgyzstan exported honey to the following countries:
Kuwait – 20.1 tons
Uzbekistan – 15.1 tons
China – 15 tons
UAE – 6.4 tons
Qatar – 5.2 tons
Bahrain – 3.1 tons
Unspecified countries – 1.8 tons
Albania – 0.5 tons
Japan – 0.4 tons
Azerbaijan – 0.2 tons
Saudi Arabia – 0.1 tons
Kazakhstan – 0.1 tons
Notably, honey exports to the US, which had reached 16.4 tons worth $153,831 during January-February 2024, ceased in the same period of 2025.
Overall, Kyrgyzstan’s foreign trade turnover amounted to $2.07 billion in the first two months of 2025, marking a 13.2 percent decline compared to the same period in 2024. Exports totaled $314.4 million (down 4.7 percent), while imports dropped by 14.6 percent to $1.756 billion.
