DUSHANBE, Tajikistan, December 18. The volume of mineral extraction in Tajikistan for January-October 2024 reached 9.96 billion somoni ($916 million), according to official data.
As the Interstate Statistical Committee of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) told Trend, the extraction of metallic ores dominated the sector, contributing 9.1 billion somoni ($837 million) to the total.
The production of coal and lignite followed, amounting to 666.4 million somoni ($61 million), while the extraction of other minerals totaled 150.9 million somoni ($13.8 million).
Furthermore, the output metrics for crude oil and natural gas exhibited a modest trajectory, quantified at 42.9 million somoni ($3.9 million).
Overall, the country's industrial production for the ten-month period totaled 41.69 billion somoni ($3.83 billion). The output increased by 15.2 percent compared to the same period last year.
