DUSHANBE, Tajikistan, April 18. The industrial production value in Tajikistan’s Khatlon region reached 2.7 billion somoni (approximately $251 million) from January through March 2025, Trend reports.
As stated at the meeting of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Finance of Tajikistan for the Khatlon region, this figure represents a 4.2 percent increase compared to the same period in 2024.
In addition, it was reported that agricultural output totaled 1.7 billion somoni ($158 million), construction works amounted to 479.8 million somoni ($46 million), retail trade turnover reached 4.9 billion somoni ($456 million), and the volume of paid services stood at 704 million somoni ($65 million).
According to the regional administration, the short-term regional development indicator for the Khatlon region amounted to 6.2 billion somoni ($577 million) for January–March 2025, with real growth rates reaching 8 percent. The region accounted for 20.2 percent of the total short-term development indicator of Tajikistan.
This economic growth was primarily driven by an increase in industrial production, 6.7 percent growth in agriculture, an 18.4 percent rise in trade turnover, 8.6 percent growth in paid services, an 11.2 percent increase in freight transportation, and an 8.4 percent increase in passenger transportation.
