DUSHANBE, Tajikistan, September 28. The extraction of non-metallic minerals in Tajikistan reached 1.367 million cubic meters from January through August 2025
Data obtained by Trend from the country’s Statistical Agency shows that the figure rose by 17.8 percent compared to 1.160 million cubic meters in the same period of 2024.
Tajikistan’s extractive industry produced goods worth 13.394 billion somoni (approximately $1.4 billion) from January through August 2025, which is a 70-percent increase in industrial output compared to the same period in 2024.
The structure of the mining industry in the first eight months of 2025 showed that metal ore extraction dominated with a 95.2 percent share, followed by hard and brown coal at 3.2 percent, other mineral extraction at 1.1 percent, and crude oil and gas accounting for 0.5 percent.
Overall, Tajikistan’s industrial enterprises produced goods valued at 40.28 billion somoni (around $4.28 billion) during the same period, reflecting an increase of 23.5 percent compared to January–August 2024.
Regional industrial output growth was led by the Sughd region, where production surged by 33.5 percent, followed by Dushanbe with 20.6 percent, districts under the central government with 13.6 percent, the Khatlon region at 6.1 percent, and the Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Region with 6.4 percent growth. Sughd and Khatlon regions accounted for the largest shares of national industrial output, contributing 60.9 percent and 19.6 percent, respectively
