TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, July 25. Uzbekistan's electric current trade turnover totaled $144.8 million from January through June 2024, Trend reports.
The data from Uzbekistan’s Statistics Agency shows that this figure has increased by 22.1 percent compared to the same period last year ($118.5 million in January–June 2023).
Uzbekistan’s exports of electric current amounted to $66 million from January through June 2024, which is 43.4 percent more year-on-year ($46 million in January–June 2023).
The electric current imports reached $78.8 million from January through June 2024, which indicates an 8.6 percent growth compared to the same period last year ($72.5 million in January–June 2023).
Meanwhile, Uzbekistan produced 36.8 billion kWh of electricity from January through June 2024. The production volume shows a 3.5 percent decline compared to the same period last year (38.1 billion kWh in January–June 2023).
At the same time, the country’s electricity production increased to 5.7 billion kWh in June 2024, compared to 3.2 billion kWh in May 2024.
