TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, March 26. Uzbekistan and China signed a $10 million agreement on construction of a large-scale agricultural machinery assembly plant, Trend reports.
The agreement was signed between Uzbekistan’s National Center for Knowledge and Innovation in Agriculture, including its affiliated Research Institute of Agricultural Mechanization and the Cotton Breeding, Seed Production, and Cultivation Agro-Technologies Research Institute, and the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Mechanization.
The project aims to provide farmers with modern equipment, boost local production, and reduce dependence on imported machinery.
Meanwhile, a delegation from Uzbekistan, led by Shuhrat Otajonov, Director of the National Center for Knowledge and Innovation in Agriculture, is currently on an official visit to China. The visit aims to strengthen cooperation in the agricultural sector and explore advanced technological solutions for mechanization and innovation.
As part of the visit, the delegation engaged in high-level discussions with representatives of leading Chinese agricultural institutions and companies. The Uzbek delegation visited a manufacturing plant specializing in the production of cutting-edge equipment for cotton planting and harvesting. They examined China’s latest agricultural machinery, assessed its potential application in Uzbekistan, and discussed prospects for collaboration in developing efficient and cost-effective solutions for Uzbek farmers.
