BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 4. The Iranian banks extended loans worth about 667 trillion rials (about $1.72 billion) in the commercial sector during the 2 months of the current Iranian year (from March 20 through May 20, 2024), the statistics of Iran's Central Bank said, Trend reports.
According to the statistics, loans worth a whopping 581 trillion rials (about $1.49 billion) were dished out as working capital in the commercial sector during the span of 2 months.
The statistics indicate that 47.5 trillion rials (about $122 million) worth of loans were issued in connection with the establishment of enterprises and other opportunities in the commercial sector, and 35.3 trillion rials (about $90.4 million) worth of loans were issued in connection with the development of enterprises.
The information notes that the commercial sector disbursed 1.06 trillion rials (about $2.71 million) worth of loans for renovation works and 1 trillion rials (about $2.56 million) for self-employment.
Furthermore, the statistics added that Iranian banks granted loans worth 617 billion rials (about $1.58 million) for the purchase of personal goods and 31 billion rials (about $738,000) for housing purchases during the mentioned period.
To note, the Iranian banks extended loans worth about 5.73 quadrillion rials (about $14.7 billion) during the second month of the current Iranian year.
