BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 15. The production in the Special Economic Zone of Iran's Persian Gulf Mining and Metal Industries increased by 6.6 percent during 3 months of the current Iranian year (from March 20 through June 20, 2024) compared to the same period last year (March 21 through June 21, 2023), executive director of the Special Economic Zone of Persian Gulf Mining and Metal Industries Mohammad Reza Pirhoseynlu said, Trend reports.
According to Pirhoseynlu, the Persian Gulf Mines and Metal Industries Special Economic Zone has produced about 2.85 percent of minerals and industrial products during the past the past 3 months.
Pirhoseynlu added that sponge iron, billets, slabs, briquettes, aluminum ingots, zinc ingots, heat-resistant materials, and so on were mainly produced during the mentioned period.
Pirhoseynlu stated that the Persian Gulf Mining and Metal Industries Special Economic Zone is considered one of the country's main production centers and plays a fundamental role in realizing long-term economic goals. Meanwhile, it is moving to become one of the active centers of Iran's mining industry by attracting investors.
To note, the Persian Gulf Mining and Metal Industries Special Economic Zone, located in the port city of Bandar Abbas in the Hormozgan Province of Iran, is a zone affiliated with the Organization for the Development and Modernization of Mining and Mines of Iran (Isidro). Electricity, gas, water, and port facilities have been established in this zone, contributing to an increase in the production of investment and mining sectors. The area of the zone is 5,000 ha.
