BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 3. The transit of passenger cars through Lengeh port in Iran's Hormuzgan province has increased by 15 percent during the six months of the current Iranian year (from March 20 through September 21, 2024) compared to the same period last year (from March 21 through September 22, 2023), the Director of Hormozgan Province Ports and Maritime Department Morteza Salari told reporters, Trend reports.
According to him, 116,838 units of passenger cars were transported through Lengeh port during the six months.
Salari noted that the cars were shipped to Iraq, Afghanistan, and Central Asian countries.
The official stated that passenger cars were unloaded from 1,625 trucks at the port.
To note, the Lengeh port in Iran's Hormozgan province is considered the second most important port after Bandar Abbas port.
