Iran's South Pars Gas company announces production volumes of processing plant No. 12

BAKU, Azerbaijan, November 4. A total of 8 bcm of gas has been processed and transferred to the country's gas network from March 20 through November 3, 2024, at the processing plant No. 12 of Iran's South Pars Gas Company, the head of processing plant No. 12 of Iran's South Pars Gas Company Mehdi Gerami told local media, Trend reports.

According to him, the plant produced more than 10 million barrels of gas condensate during the mentioned period.

Gerami added that the plant also produced 224,000 tons of propane, 6.2 million tons of butane, and 8,800 tons of sulfur.

The official noted that in recent years there has been interest in the production of spare parts and consumables at the South Pars Gas Company's processing plants in the country. The company has prioritized the production of equipment within the country, and the equipment and consumables are provided by the products of local startup companies.

Meanwhile, the rich gas produced at the South Pars gas field is processed by the South Pars company. More than 75 percent of the gas consumed in the country is provided by this company. The company has 13 processing plants.

South Pars Gas Company obtains 650 million cubic meters of rich gas daily from the South Pars gas field. It processes and transfers 580 million cubic meters of gas to the country's gas network. The company also produces 780,000 barrels of gas condensate, 15,000 tons of methane, 15,000 tons of propane, 10,000 tons of butane, and 2,500 tons of sulfur per day.

To note, the South Pars gas field (North Dome in Qatar) is a joint Iran-Qatar gas field. It is reported that this field has 51 trillion cubic meters of gas reserves, of which 36 trillion cubic meters can be produced. Iran's share in this field is 14 trillion cubic meters of gas and 18 billion barrels of gas condensate.
