BAKU, Azerbaijan, November 21. The port and maritime administration of Khuzestan province, located in southwestern Iran, has saved $1 billion, the deputy director of the Port and Maritime Administration of Iran's Khuzestan Province Mohammad Nazari told local media, Trend reports.
According to him, the mentioned funds were saved as a result of the production of equipment needed in the ports by start-up companies. The equipment and materials ordered by the Port and Maritime Administration of Iran's Khuzestan Province are produced by start-up companies.
Nazari pointed out that the Airbot boat was built and put into operation in the country last year on the order of the Port and Maritime Administration of Khuzestan Province. The boat in question is seven meters long and is equipped with a 570-horsepower engine capable of carrying five people.
The official added that last year the start-up companies produced four units of firefighting equipment with a capacity of 36 bars and saved $25,000.
He emphasized that the dura mater diagnostics equipment was also manufactured by the startups. This allowed saving $65,000.
To note, Iran's Khuzestan province has a coastline of 1,186 kilometers long. The main ports of this province are Imam Khomeini, Khorramshahr, Abadan, Sajafi, Shadegan, Choebdeh, and Arvandkenar and Sajafi.
