BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 5. Non-oil product exports through customs in Iran's western Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari Province have increased by 9 percent in value and 13 percent in weight in the 11 months of the current Iranian year (from March 20, 2024, through February 18, 2025), compared to the same period last year (from March 21, 2023, through February 19, 2024), Mazaher Rabiei, the acting head of the customs department of the province, told reporters, Trend reports.
Rabiei noted that 377,000 tons of goods worth $178 million were exported through the province's customs during this period. He noted that the primary exports included urea, almonds, rebar, fish feed, and household items, with products sent to 23 countries, including Türkiye, Iraq, India, and Oman.
The official also mentioned that imports through the province's customs during the same period amounted to $180 million for 93,000 tons of goods. This represents a 252 percent increase in value and a 715 percent increase in weight compared to the previous year. The imports mainly consisted of raw materials, production equipment, and spare parts, primarily from China, the UAE, and Türkiye.
To note, Iran's Customs Administration data shows that the country's total exports of non-oil products amounted to 141 million tons worth $53.4 billion during 11 months. Compared to the same period last year, non-oil exports increased by 19 percent in value and 12.6 percent in weight.
Iran's Customs Administration data shows that Iran imported 35 million tons of products worth $63.6 billion during 11 months. Iran's imports of products rose by 5.6 percent in value and decreased by 2.6 percent in weight compared to the same period last year.
