BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 7. Iran plans to stop the burning of flare gas at the "Rag-e Sefid" oil field by the end of the current Iranian year (March 20, 2026), Javanshir Sadeghi, the CEO of Iran's Persian Gulf Bidboland Gas Refining Company, told reporters, Trend reports.
Sadeghi shared the update with local media, stating that seven flares at the oil field have already been extinguished, and currently, about 80 million cubic feet (around 2.26 million cubic meters) of flare gas is being collected daily.
The official stated that by the end of the year, the extinguishing of the remaining five flares is expected to result in the daily collection of 150 million cubic feet (about 4.25 million cubic meters) of associated gas.
The Persian Gulf Bidboland Gas Refining Company can produce 10.3 million tons of methane, 1.5 million tons of propane, 490,000 tons of butane, 922,000 tons of sour gas, and 400,000 tons of condensate per year.
