Iranian Minister of Labor and Social Welfare Ali Rabiei underlined cooperation with Dublin in sending skilled work force to Ireland.
Rabiei made the remarks in a meeting with Pat Breen, Irish Minister of Trade, Employment, Business, EU Digital Single Market and Data Protection, on the sidelines of the 107th session of the international labor conference underway in the Swiss city of Geneva, Mehr news agency reported June 6.
The annual conference, taking place from May 28 to June 8 brings together the tripartite delegations from the organization’s 187 member states to consider a series of topics related to the world of work, placed on its agenda by the Governing Body of the International Labor Organization (ILO).
The two ministers underlined mutual cooperation in the fields of technical and vocational training and deployment of skilled labor force, in particular chefs to Ireland.
Rabiei expressed his ministry’s readiness for cooperation with Ireland in various areas, including export of dairy products, medical equipment and chemicals.
Back in 2016, Iran announced that it signed an MoU with the European country to send work force skilled in hospitality and culinary to Ireland.
Based on Iran’s fourth and fifth Five-Year National Development Plans (2005-2015) it was planned to send 100,000 workers abroad. However, due to sanctions problems only 4,000 workers were sent overseas.
